30 WEEKS PREGNANT!!

I am 30 weeks preggo this week and I’m tired as HELL! Sleeping has become a chore and all the pillows in the world in various positions has not helped me sleep any better. I keep eyeing the recliner in Sam’s Club I dozed off in a week ago (yeah I took a nap in Sam’s people…the best nap I’ve had in weeks by the way) and I just may bring it home if I can justify the purchase beyond pregnancy.

I love the movement in my belly though and everyday I look at the fiance’ and get geeked about how our daughter will look and who she will take after. I am so excited!

We have already picked out a name but I won’t share it yet and as far as the changes in me? Our friend told me last night that my nose is spreading. That made me laugh a little. I guess it all comes with the territory.

People want to see my pregnant belly and of course I’m horrified by taking pictures when I’m NOT carrying an extra 20 pounds so you know I’m in no hurry to start snapping them now. Maybe you can just come to the club on Saturday (The Loft) and see the belly. lol

2010 BET Awards

The 2010 BET Awards kicked off last night and for once I can say that BET did a pretty good job. Although last years show was pretty last minute and thrown together because of the sudden death of Michael Jackson, they definitely stepped it up this year. The show, hosted by Queen Latifah, consisted of many surprise guests and comebacks. Prince was honored with a lifetime achievement award and tribute, that really didn’t do it for me personally, but got really good reviews on both twitter and facebook.

Everyone was surprised with the awesome dance tribute to Michael Jackson by Chris Brown. He danced his ass off before getting very emotional and being unable to finish the tribute by singing Michael’’s “Man In the Mirror”.

Queen Latifah had many costume changes to portray some of her most memorable movie and play roles like Cleo from “Set It Off’ and her characters from both “Hairspray” and “Chicago”. All in all she did an awesome job. I’m sure you watched but in case you didn’t peep some of the best performances of the night below:

Hey all you ballers out there, got $5000 to blow? Well if so, Versace has teamed up with LG to create this new touchscreen Versace phone. The phone, encased in leather with the Versace insignia, has a sapphire crystal screen, a five mega pixel camera, surround sound, and 30hrs of playtime. It will be sold at Versace stores all over the world starting in June.

This edition of Static Style is devoted to lace front wigs. Ladies, I am in no way against you wearing them for convenience and even medical reasons but sometimes you just don’t get it. Also, just because you have a wig doesn’t mean you have to wear it all day and sleep in it and especially stop taking care of your real hair. Celebrities have been victims of bad lace fronts too. They are in no way off the hook.

#1 Do not put your lace front on with weave, eyelash, or regular bonding glue. It is special glue you use just for lace fronts. Invest in some or please pay a professional to do it.

#2 The actual lace on the wig should not show. (I’m only using Beyonce as an example because most of the people who wear them are striving for a Beyonce type look, right? )

#3 It should not look as though you have a lining when you put one on. That’s just not cute. At all.

#4 The wig should be about where your natural hairline is and PLEASE don’t go over board with the baby hair.

Really I could care less if you spend $100 or $1000 on your wig. If it isn’t cute it just isn’t cute. Now you guys might be wondering “well who the hell is this girl to say anything” well I am a licensed cosmetologist when I’m not here working with my StaciStatic.com family. If you would like some help with an issue you may be having hit us up and our staff at StaciStatic.com will gladly give you a couple of pointers.

You also have to make sure that you are regularly shampooing and conditioning your real hair under the wig. Trims and relaxers, if you wear one, should also be kept up to date on a 6-8 week basis. Good luck ladies!

Yes, I am pregnant (we found out it’s a girl) and yes, I am engaged. No, I will not marry until after the baby is born and yes the father and I are happy and excited about the baby. My life is changing which is of course exciting and just a little bit scary. I’m looking forward to the challenges of having a new baby (it’s been sooooo long) and I wonder what I will remember and how different one child will be from the next (I imagine they will be like night and day). Asha, is excited, nervous, jealous, protective, and happy. She is dealing with a whole range of emotions and I am sensitive to that. She’s an awesome daughter and I know with the arrival of the new baby everything will fall into place. Thanks for visiting the site and for your continued support through the years. I will keep you posted on the developments( due date, name, ect). Just stop through to find out.

Gucci Is Free!

Rapper Gucci Mane was released from Fulton County jail in Georgia around midnight Wednesday morning May 12th and immediately had a press conference. He was greeted by another Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo and Atlanta dj DJ Holiday. Everybody seemed really happy about this on facebook and twitter. At the press conference Gucci goes on to thank his legal team, label, and fans.

While in jail, Gucci Mane missed out on the release of his first major label album since being signed to Warner Brothers but mentioned a lot about his upcoming projects with his group Brick Squad that features Waka Flocka Flame and OJ The Juiceman. He’s also scheduled to start a tour in July and will perform at Hot 104.1’s Super Jam 3 on Saturday June 12th. In the end he basically challenges the rap game and is quoted as saying “I’m hungry for success and ready to compete”.

Personally, I’ve been waiting for Gucci to return. I wasn’t a huge fan of “The State vs. Radric Davis” but I cant say that I’m not excited for what’s to come.

Why can’t home girl stay on her feet!?  Supposedly from the last fall (CLICK HERE) she received a cracked rib. For real I’m a little confused by it all. Beyonce can jiggalate and pelvic thrust all over the stage and almost (I said almost) never fall but this girl cant even walk without falling? I don’t know which was worse, the way she tried to play it off or the actual performance. The chick flipping around on the strings was doing her thing though. #shrug

Jay Z Performs On SNL

Jay Z was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live over the weekend which was hosted by the legendary Golden Girl Betty White. It also saw the return of some of the show’s biggest female names Tina Fey, Amy Pohler, and Maya Randolph. It was the highest rated SNL episode in 18 months!!! Check out Jay Z’s performace…
